Make sure YOU become a
Patriot Reader!

Our new reading program offers monthly and quarterly rewards and incentives to encourage students to maintain a continuous
reading routine throughout the year.

How do I become a Patriot Reader?
Read fiction books FROM THE BOOKLISTS PROVIDED IN THE LIBRARY (LINKS to the BOOK PARTY LISTS are under the BOOK PARTIES tab)  OR any other lists posted on this PATRIOT READER PAGE....scroll down.  Pass the quizzes with a 60 or higher. (You may only attempt the quiz a 2nd time if you score a 50 on your first attempt.
Sixth and seventh graders must read from the
green list (for 6th grade) or the purple list (for 7th grade).
Eighth graders must read from the blue list or any book from our Young Adult section (if they have a YA permission form on file).  The YA book can not be a movie, and it must have a quiz.  Links to these lists are under the BOOK PARTIES tab.
SSYRA books are part of the booklists for ALL grade levels.
Once your Reading Counts points  accumulate to the various categories listed below , submit the Patriot Reader Form to Mrs. Jordan in the library.   You will receive a Patriot Reader card (attached to a lanyard).  You MUST wear your lanyard when participating in the Patriot Reader activities.  Select books you HAVE NOT READ before.  You may also read the sequels to any of the books on the booklists....just always make sure they have a quiz before you invest the time reading it.

Patriot Reader Levels

Once you reach RED Card status, you may read books of your choosing.  Just make sure they have a quiz.

Select the READING COUNTS BOOK EXPERT link at the top of this page to find out how many points a book has.  You can also find the points on the inside cover of most library books and in Destiny.
